Edit Group - General

The following fields are available in the General section of the Edit Group page. Not all fields may be shown. This is dependent on which of the fields have been enabled for your U3A.

Name: This is the (formal) name allocated to the Group when it was set up. It should not be changed without seeking prior approval from your Study Group Coordinator.

Alias: This is the 'System Name' allocated to the Group, and forms part of the URL for the Group's webpage, which is of the format ...U3A/Groups/Alias. This cannot be changed.

Category: This is the Group Category allocated to the Group, which enables it to appear in the correct section in the Summary by Category version of the Group List. It should not be changed without seeking approval from your Study Group Coordinator.

Attendance Fee: The fee payable (if any) in order to attend each meeting of the Group

Code: This is the Code allocated to the Group, if Group Codes are being used in your U3A. It should not be changed without reference to your Study Group Coordinator.

Email: This is the Group Email address being used by the Leader/Convener, provided Group Email Addresses are being used in your U3A.

Image: If enabled in your U3A this allows a banner image to be uploaded for use on the Group's webpage, instead of using the main website banner image(s).The banner images will need to be sized correctly and uploaded to the Image Manager in order to display correctly. Banner images should not be uploaded without prior approval from your Webmaster.

External URL: If enabled and the Group has an external URL, you may enter it here. This will then display a Group Web Page button on the Group's (internal) webpage. Clicking this will take the user to the external webpage.

Group Buddy: If the Leader/Convener does not have an email address, a buddy can be allocated to manage emails etc on their behalf. Select the buddy from the drop-down list of Members. Clicking the 'X' will remove the name.
