There are two walks each month. Members of the high-Level walking group may join all or any of the walks which are aimed at walkers with a high level of fitness and health.
Walk length varies between 8 and 13 miles, between 2,000 ft and over 3,000 feet. Travel time to the start of the walk is dependent on the walk location, between 1 and half hours and two and a half hours. We normally arrive back in Sandbach between 5 and 8pm (traffic permitting). The walks are scheduled normally for the second and fourth Wednesday of the month.
The meeting point for all walks will be dependent on the driver and location of the walk. The meeting time will be 7.30 am.
You are advised to have a good pair of walking boots, waterproof clothing (Jacket, Trousers, Hat and Gloves). Head Torch, Foil Blanket and Compass are essential.
Food, and a drink. At the very least please carry lunch, a cold drink in hot weather and a hot drink when it is cold.
The walks take in the highest mountains in England and Wales, the terrain can be difficult and challenging, and the weather can be changeable at any time during the day. Care in selection of clothing and food will be dependent on the walk and the forecast weather conditions.
Walkers should proceed at their own pace but ensuring that they are in sight of members of the group. If you experience any difficulty on the walk, please inform the leader at once. As a group we are mindful of each other's safety.
Only assistance dogs are allowed.
If you have any concerns or accessibility requirements regarding the suitability of joining the group or participating in its activities please discuss this with the group leader who will endeavour to accommodate your needs wherever possible.
The leader reserves the right to alter or curtail any walk according to the prevailing circumstances.
Normally a more detailed description of the walk will be sent out on email or group WhatsApp during the weekend before the walk, giving an indication of how demanding the walk will be.
Please contact the group leader for further clarification.
