Hi there. If you are someone thinking of joining our little group, then please read on.
To ease everyone back in gently, our first session back after summer included a bit of role play with the emphasis on asking questions in French.
We are a mixed ability group including those with a basic ‘school’ French to others who are fairly fluent. Some of us have lived or worked in France, may own property there or are regular visitors. We make use of varied media including video and You Tube clips and there are also practice conversations in small groups at tables. Members are encouraged to share their expertise with the class through presentations, games and exercises in many varied aspects of the language. The continuing success of this group is greatly helped by the enthusiasm, friendship and contributions from all its members. The group meet each Wednesday at 10 am to noon at the Masonic Hall. We commence our year about the second week in September and excepting short half term and statutory holiday breaks, continue to the third week in May. There are no sessions across the summer months, but quite a few of our members usually meet up for a coffee and chat during that period at an appropriate local venue.
If you have any specific requirements regarding the suitability of joining our group, or participating in its activities, please feel free to contact one of our Group Leaders, and we will endeavour to accommodate your needs wherever possible and answer any questions you may have.
If you like the sound of the above, we would love to hear from you. To get in touch, either to apply to join or to email a question to me, please go to the
