Where we meet
Most groups meet at the Amersham Community Centre in Chiltern Avenue, either the Barn Halls, Pottery Room and Weedon Room, or inside the Chilterns Lifestyle Centre (Drake Hall, Lounge and Committee Room). This is a short walk from Amersham station.
At present there is a demolition site between the two areas as the old community centre building and pool are demolished.
Some groups meet elsewhere in Amersham or, for those that need special facilities, nearby (e.g. Chesham, Chalfont St Peter, Little Chalfont, Watford and Rickmansworth). Some groups meet in members' homes.
Be warned that the Community Centre, Council office and station car parks are patrolled regularly by traffic wardens, who not only check that you are within time (you are allowed up to 10 minutes over the time shown on your ticket), but also that you have parked properly within a marked bay, not with one or more wheels overlapping the white lines.
The historic Barn buildings, including the large and small Barn Halls, and the block containing the Pottery Room have been untouched by the redevelopment of the site for the Chilterns Life Centre. Click here for the history of the Barn buildings.
