Saturday 19th July – A day at the seaside Llandudno - now open to all Charnwood u3a members

A bit of foreign travel for the summer as we are venturing into North Wales, for our seaside trip. Llandudno is the largest seaside resort in Wales, and as early as 1861 was being called 'the Queen of the Welsh Watering Places’. The seaside attractions include the longest pier in Wales, which besides the view hosts plenty of opportunities to buy ice-cream and freshly made doughnuts. (Beware of the seagulls!) For most of the length of Llandudno's North Shore there is a wide curving Victorian promenade, with lots of seats. From the prom you can also admire the scenic headlands of the Great and Little Orme. If you are feeling adventurous there is tourist bus or you can make your way up the Great Orme via the wonderful Tramway or use Britain’s longest cable car – weather permitting. As well as these attractions the town itself has shops and lots of places to eat. We expect to spend around five and a half hours in Llandudno.

There will be a short comfort break on both the outward and return journeys.

Price: £33.00 per person

Depart Tesco Extra, Park Road, Loughborough car park at 08:00 a.m.

Depart Llandudno at 5:30 pm
